Louisiana College Religion Professor will present a study on Faith

Louisiana College prepares for annual spring career fair

The annual spring career fair will be held on Thursday, March 15th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Granberry Conference Center on the campus of Louisiana College. This event brings area employers and Louisiana College students together. Over 100 invitations have gone out to a wide-variety of employers from small business owners to large corporations. International Honor Nursing Society to hold conference at Louisiana College

The Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society Nu Tau Chapter presents “Mission Possible: Evidence-Based Nursing Practice” conference on Friday, March 16, 2007 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Granberry Conference Center located on the campus of Louisiana College.

The purpose of the conference is to explore the evidence-based nursing practice paradigm and identify strategies for applying it within a wide variety of practice settings. The goal is for participants to be able to: discuss the evolution of evidence-based nursing practice, identify current sources of evidence for nursing practice, list current resources and strategies to promote evidence-based nursing practices and describe the Central Louisiana Healthcare Ethics Coalition study addressing the impact of community-wide education on attitudes regarding advance directives are just a few of the many objectives.

The special guest speaker is: Suzanne S. Prevost, RN, Ph.D., COI, she is a professor at Middle Tennessee State University and a visiting professor at the University of Kentucky. Panelists include: Tracy Deville, BSN., RN., Nursing Supervisor at Rapides Regional Medical Center; Sandra L. Duck, BSN., RN., Nursing Education Program Manager at LSU-HCSD Huey P. Long Medical Center; Lisa Lauve, BSN., RN., is the Chief Nurse Executive at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital; Beverly Lowentritt, RNC., MSN., CS., FNP., Director of Nursing Practice at Rapides Regional Medical Center; Janet Reich, RN., CBS., is the Director of the OCDD/DHH Resource Center Nutritional, Physical, and Nursing Supports; and Renee Shamblin, BSN., RN., instructor of Nursing at Louisiana College.
