Christian Studies Professor publishes article

Pineville, LA…

Dr. Michael Shepherd, Assistant Professor of Christian Studies at Louisiana College, recently published an article entitled, “The Distribution of Verbal Forms in Biblical Aramaic,” that appeared in the fall 2007 issue of the Journal of Semitic Studies.

Dr. Shepherd has also written a book, The Verbal System of Biblical Aramaic: A Distributional Approach, published by Peter Lang, and scheduled to be released in early 2008.

Another upcoming project is an article, “Compositional Analysis of the Twelve,” that will appear in the spring 2008 issue of Zeitschrift für die alttestamentliche Wissenschaft.

Dr. Mingchu Gao, Associate Professor of Mathematics at Louisiana College, recently published two articles. The first article is a joint-work along with Dr. Marius Junge, a professor of mathematics at the University of Illinois. The joint-paper was published in International Mathematics Research Notices, July, 2007.

The second article entitled, “Clifford Algebras over Hilbert C* - modules” will appear in the Houston Journal of Mathematics, Winter Issue, 2007.

Christian Studies Professor presents paper at national conference

Dr. Alan Bandy, Assistant Professor of Biblical/Christian Studies, at Louisiana College, recently presented a paper at the annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society in San Diego, CA. The Evangelical Theological Society is a theological society geared toward the academic study of the Bible and Theology. The title of the paper is, “The Layers of the Apocalypse: A Holistic Approach to Revelation’s Structure.”
