Pineville, LA. … The Louisiana College Teacher Education Department is offering a “Whole Brain Teaching” conference on campus beginning Monday, June 14th through Wednesday, June 16th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning in Guinn Auditorium. This event is free and is open to any K-12 teacher.

“Whole Brain Teaching” is a teaching method and classroom management style that rests upon the principal that teachers at every level share the same type of difficulties in the classroom: students lack discipline, poor background knowledge and fundamental problem solving skills. The goal of this method is to create peaceful classrooms full of orderly fun.

“We have approximately 550 teachers and administrators in this year’s “Whole Brain Teaching” seminar,” explained Dr. Michael Shamblin, Director of the Teacher Education Alternate Certification (TEACH) program. Participants have come from 18 different states and one principal of a private Christian School traveled from India to take part. “This is our third year to offer the “Whole Brain Teaching” seminar on campus.”

For teachers and administrators who have not signed up but are interested in learning more about this type of instruction the seminar is free and will continue through Wednesday, June 16th everyday beginning at 9 a.m.

For more information contact the LC Teacher Education Department at (318) 487-7302.
