Pineville, LA. … On Thursday, June 9th, FROSH (Freshmen Registration and Orientation Summer Head-Start) Days officially begins at Louisiana College with registration from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and a welcome at 9:30 a.m. in the Martin Performing Arts Center on the LC campus.
FROSH Days is designed for students planning to attend Louisiana College for the first time in the fall. This two-day event is filled with informative sessions and fun events to help make the transition into college as easy as possible. In addition to the fun, students will have the opportunity to meet other incoming freshmen, experience dorm life and pre-register for fall classes. The pre-registration is important for new students because it allows them to choose the classes they want and also meet with professors.
The incoming freshmen are not the only ones invited to FROSH days; parents play an integral role, too. Parents are invited to a separate but concurrent program specifically designed for them. The program includes opportunities to meet with LC professors and administrators to discuss a variety of issues including: academic performance, student health care, campus safety, financial aid, campus support systems and campus housing among others.
Director of Enrollment Management, Byron McGee explains, “FROSH Days is a wonderful opportunity for Louisiana College’s freshmen class to become familiar with the campus, professors, pre-register for classes, check out dorm life and meet their roommate. The friendships that are made during this time will last a lifetime.”
Approximately 200 students from across the state along with their parents will attend this year’s event. For more information about the 2011 FROSH days contact the LC Office of Admissions (318) 487-7194 or visit www.lacollege.edu
