LC Representatives Meet with His Excellency, President Kikwete of Tanzania

Monday, September 19th, 2011

New York City, NY – It is a distinguished honor for the administration of Louisiana College, an institution internationally renowned for education, to have been granted the time to meet with His Excellency, President Kikwete of Tanzania.

Members of the delegation, Dr. Randall Esters, Dean of Education and Presidential Envoy for International Affairs, and Joseph Cole, Coordinator for Presidential Affairs, presented a proposal to His Excellency for an international education partnership bringing greater strength to a strong educational system.  The proposal included a secondary school, university credits, an athletic academy with both basketball and soccer, and a film program.

His Excellency, President Kikwete, was extremely gracious in giving his time to have a wonderful meeting of intelligent minds. Furthermore to show his support, President Kikwete generously committed at least 150 acres of land for the development of the Louisiana College: Tanzania campus.  Louisiana College administrators are incredibly grateful and humbled by the opportunity to meet His Excellency as well as discuss educational opportunity.

A DIVINE CONNECTION: LOUISIANA COLLEGE AND TANZANIA

Sunday, September 18th, 2011

Pineville, LA – The Lord is expanding LC’s territory rapidly and mightily. A new partnership with the Opportunity Education Foundation allowed an educational team to train over 500 teachers in Tanzania, Africa this summer. Just this last weekend, representatives of LC traveled to visit with the President of Tanzania to discuss further educational opportunities between LC and the East African nation.

Dr. Joe Aguillard, Dr. Randy Esters, Dr. Tim Searcy and others were among a group who traveled to Tanzania this summer and taught. There are many things happening that there are not words to express the multitude of doors being opened to share the Gospel with the nations through LC. Stay tuned for all that is to come and updates from the last year of God’s work through LC across the world.
