Dr. Tim Searcy named new Vice President for Academic Affairs

Pineville, LA. … The Louisiana College Office of the President is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Searcy, Ph.D. as the new Vice-President for Academic Affairs at Louisiana College. Dr. Searcy has 19 years experience in Christian Higher Education administration.

 

Dr. Searcy began his tenure at LC on July 1, 2010. “I’m pleased to make this announcement,” explained Dr. Joe Aguillard, President of Louisiana College. “Dr. Searcy is unique, in that he possesses the Christian Higher Education administrative experience as well as the shared understanding of the importance of educating the whole person, including the spiritual well-being of students.”

 

Dr. Searcy was the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness and a Professor of Christian Education at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

“I’m looking forward to coming to Louisiana College,” said Searcy. “I believe we need Christian higher education like never before to instruct the whole student, preparing them not only for a vocation but to be Christians committed to their faith.”

 

Dr. Searcy has made significant contributions to the field of theological education. Most recently he served for a time as Associate Director of the Professional Doctoral Program at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where he developed a new doctoral degree, the Doctor of Educational Ministry. This degree was approved by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). Dr. Searcy has considerable experience with accrediting bodies at NOBTS and around the country.  He has served on visiting teams for both ATS and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) in on-site and off-site capacities.

 

Searcy and his wife Brenda have two grown children Phillip, who lives in Raleigh, North Carolina and another in son, Nathan, who resides in Mobile, Alabama. “My wife and I are looking forward to moving to central Louisiana and being a part of Louisiana College.”
