Senior nursing students inducted into Nu Tau Honor Society

Ten Louisiana College senior nursing students were inducted into the Nu Tau Honor Society during an induction ceremony on October 25, 2007 at the Granberry Conference Center.  Nu Tau is the local chapter of Sigma Theta Tua International Honor Society of Nursing.

These ten students were invited to join the organization based on their class standing and leadership qualities. Student inductees are:  Katie Colvin, Lydia Griggs, Melissa Griggs, David Hines, Lauren Johnson, Summer Johnson, Melinda Robin, Michelle Roque, Megan Wilkie, and Kayla Wright.

Two of the students, Megan Wilkie and Kayla Wright, were further honored by being selected to represent the Nu Tau Chapter at the 39th Biennial Convention of Sigma Theta Tau International in Baltimore, Md., on November 2-7, along with Debra Migues, Associate Professor of Nursing, and President-Elect of LC’s Nu Tau Chapter. These two students were chosen because they have maintained a 4.0 GPA as well as demonstrated leadership and professionalism. In addition to these students, six community leaders were inducted into the Honor Society as well.  They are: Charlotte Amphion, JoAnn Derbonne, Barbara Griffin, Ruby Gonzales, Lisa Lauve, and Monica Prevot.
